The TDP cadre has held a meeting with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu today. Mr.Jayadev Galla along with K.Rammohan Naidu and K.Kala Venkata Rao has addressed a press conference after the meet with TDP supremo.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr Galla said the Centre gave “nothing special” to AP despite the promises. He added that the main concern of the TDP party is to implement the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act.
“What we are demanding clearly is an action plan to meet all the commitments made in the AP Reorganisation Act 2014 with specific timelines, and also the implementation of the six promises made in Rajya Sabha by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Otherwise, we can’t believe anything,” TDP MP Jayadev Galla said.
Referring to Andhra Pradesh capital Amravati, Mr Galla said while Rs. 1.30 lakh crore was needed to build the new city, the state requested the Centre to grant Rs. 48,000 crore to construct government complexes like the Secretariat, High Court, Legislature and the like.
“We have submitted a detailed project report to the Centre in this regard but they (BJP leaders) are saying only Rs. 1,000 crore more will be released, in addition to the Rs. 2,500 crore already given,” he pointed out.
“Our main concern is about the implementation of the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act. Nothing substantial has been done in this regard so far,” he added.
