Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that his caste is ‘Pedarikam’ (“Poverty is my caste-CM”)
Mr. Naidu speaking to a large gathering on the final day of Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru programme, held at Dharmavaram, Anantapur district said that his caste is Poverty.
“Wherever poverty is there, I’m there. I’m for the poor people. I’m totally against to the poor becoming poorer. Poverty is my caste. I don’t have any other caste,” he said.
CM opined that for achieving progress development alone is not sufficient but people also have to increase their earning. He further added that increase in income is also not just sufficient, but people have to be happier.
Naidu said that to bring happiness to everyone in the state the state government of Andhra Pradesh is focusing on wellness of people which is the first state in India to work based on happiness index. He said, as part of it, physical exercises are given priority.
“Even robots could complete the tasks. But it is humans who control them. Humans need to dominate in all aspects,” said Chandrababu.
Talking about the severe drought in Rayalaseema region, Chandrababu said his government is going all out to develop Rayalaseema and overcome the drought. “Rayalaseema will be made a horticulture hub. It will no longer be called Rallaseema. It is going to be Ratnalaseema,” said Chandrababu.
