It is known fact that chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has hired a British architectural firm to build in the government sites at the capital and has also informed the British firm to take inputs from SS rajamouli. (“Rajamouli’s Tribute to Telugu Talli”)
High interests have been gathered ever since Rajamouli has entered the scenario. People were mesmerised with the visual grandeur shown by the director in Bahubali movie and the expectations are scaled up on par with. But recent rejection on Rajamouli’s proposed design has disappointed the fans.
Directors proposed design has been doing rounds in social media now which has gained peoples applaud. The creative head has given an idea where the sunrays would directly touch the Telugu Talli statue installed in the centre hall of the assembly.
The design is based on the phenomenon of the architectural designs of the Lord Suryanrayana Temple in Arasavilli of Srikakulam District. The sun rays touch the presiding deity in March and October when the sun moves from ‘Uttarayana’ to ‘Dakshinayana’. Such same thing happens in the Gudimallem Parasurameswara Temple in Tirupati district.
On the terrace above the central hall a series of mirrors are placed in a contraption that has the ability to turn or rotate in 360 degrees. The whole moment of the ring is computerized. When the required time is set up in the system the ring moves in such a way that the first mirror catches the light from the sun and reflects on to the second one which in turn directs the light on to the third mirror. The third mirror then makes subtle adjustments to trace the sunlight along the wall of the statue and exactly at the time given the rays touch the feet of Telugu talli.
Our ancient astronomers and architects studied the path of sun to millimetre perfection and built temples in such a way that the sun rays touch the idol deep in the temple at specific times every year. Inspired by them, this idea is to pay tribute to ‘Telugu Thalli’ at the beginning of Assembly Sessions. – SS Rajamouli.
